One of the final three impressions from this fifteen‑print linocut series, ‘Summer Gone’ is a richly worked variation distinguished by the addition of subtle monoprint layers that shift the atmosphere and surface character of the piece. Printed on A4 Aquafine 300gsm paper, this version carries a more nuanced interplay between the bold, carved forms and the hand‑applied colour fields, giving it a slightly more weathered, end‑of‑season tone.
The deep blue plant forms and the bird in flight sit against a warm yellow ground, but in this particular variation the monoprinting introduces gentle textural veils and tonal irregularities—those soft, painterly deposits of ink that make each print in the edition genuinely unique. The result is a print that feels like a moment of transition: seed pods drying, light thinning, a bird lifting away as the last warmth of summer recedes.
