- Suddenly I met Your face
Original artwork description
Working directly on a printing plate can be mindblowing… I poured my magenta paint on the plate in order to spread it with a palet knife. I stepped back… and yes, I suddenly saw him. I tried to manipulate it a bit but most of it was already there so I let go. This monotype is made of four layers of acrylic paint on a home made gelatine plate.
Printing gives me the pleasure of surprise. It always turns out different than expected. This triggers new ideas. My monoprints often consist of multiple layers of paint printed on top of each other. After the printing process I also draw or paint on the prints again.
Materials used:
Acrylic paint; Acid-Free paper, 135 g/m2;
Details:
- Monoprint on Paper
- One of a kind artwork
- Size: 29.7 x 42 x 0.1cm (unframed) / 20 x 27cm (actual image size)
- Signed on the back
- Style: Expressive and gestural
- Subject: People and portraits
