This still life is also a self-portrait. I arranged the objects from my own life and painted the scene directly from observation, with my reflection appearing in the mirror. In the reflection, I see myself looking sad, which gives the painting a more personal and emotional meaning.

The perfume, makeup brushes, nail polish, and accessories are intimate objects from my everyday life, surrounding my own reflection and becoming part of the self-portrait. Against the muted grey-purple background, the vivid touches of colour create a contrast with the quiet sadness in my expression. The green apple adds a natural, fresh element to the composition, bringing a sense of life and simplicity to this otherwise introspective scene.

I set up the still life myself and painted it from life, allowing the composition, light, colours, and emotion to develop naturally as I worked. For me, this painting is about seeing myself honestly in an ordinary moment, surrounded by familiar things.
