The reason I chose the title for this piece was the silvery blue afternoon light in this painting. It is based on some pictures I took at the main beach in the nearby City of Laguna Beach (in southern CA) last year. I watched this little boy engrossed in his play in the sand for a several minutes; I tried to convey his enchantment with his sand castle through the moody, shimmery and unusual blue gray light.
