I am a completely self-taught artist from Germany. I started drawing and painting while I was still at school and have continued learning and practising ever since.

For more than four decades, realism and photorealism have been at the centre of my work. I have worked in many different media, including oil, acrylic, egg tempera, drawing and printmaking, with a particular interest in etching. Since 2023, I have mainly worked in soft pastel.

Today, I create photorealistic still lifes that go beyond the simple depiction of objects. Fruits, flowers and vessels become a way of exploring human relationships, vulnerability, connection and the quiet tensions that exist between people.

I am fascinated by detail and by the way seemingly ordinary things can acquire a deeper meaning. Photography provides an important reference for my work, but drawing from life remains an essential part of my practice.

My aim is not simply to reproduce what I see, but to create stillness and invite the viewer to look more closely.
