The last panel of a triptych carries a particular weight — it has to complete something without repeating it.

Shade and Breeze I leans darker and lower than its companions: violet-black blossoms cluster toward the edges, sky-blue hydrangea gathers close to the bottom corner, and a single unhurried branch of rosebuds and small blue petals crosses the canvas at its own pace. The turquoise ground carries the same restless quality as the rest of the series — brighter in places, quietly greying in others.

Together, the three Shade and Breeze paintings explore the particular calm of garden shade — not stillness exactly, but a kind of movement that never demands to be followed.

This final piece doesn't tie the series into a neat bow. It simply lets the quiet keep going.
