About Marisa Añón

Biography

Light and nature have always been my greatest inspiration. I was born on the Mediterranean coast of Spain, and its colours, light and landscapes continue to inspire everything I paint.

I enjoy simplifying nature through shape and colour, creating balanced compositions that express a feeling rather than a literal view. My work is inspired by the quiet beauty of everyday life, where flowers, plants and landscapes become a personal interpretation of the Mediterranean and the memories it evokes. I hope my paintings invite people to pause, look a little closer and reconnect with a place, a memory or a feeling of their own.

I studied Fine Arts and trained as a Fine Art Conservator and Restorer. Spending years closely observing and conserving paintings gave me a deep appreciation for colour, composition and craftsmanship, and continues to influence the way I approach my own work today.

Painting has always been a big part of my life. I spend every day in my studio doing what I love, constantly exploring new ideas through colour, light and form. I feel incredibly grateful that my paintings have found homes with collectors around the world.
