San Francisco (2026) Original Oil Painting by Anastasia Kondratovich

I came back to my Cityscapes series this year and found myself looking at San Francisco in a completely different way. This painting is inspired by the same fascination with the city’s architecture, overlapping buildings, and beautiful geometry, but this time I wanted to bring much more colour and energy into the scene. I was especially drawn to the bright colours and the way they change the feeling of the familiar city view. The buildings almost become shapes and patterns, while the light brings everything together and gives the city a lively, almost playful character. It was interesting to return to a subject I first painted many years ago and see how my own way of painting it has changed. The city is still recognizable, but the colours and atmosphere feel very different. For me, this painting is another reminder that even a simple view of a city can become something full of colour, energy, and beauty when we take the time to really look.
