Running To The Sea (2025)

“There is a profound silence that only follows a storm. It’s the moment the world stops screaming and starts to breathe again. This is the shore in its most honest state.”

The Post-Storm Serenity: This 80 x 120 cm work is a nostalgic study of the Baltic coast in the aftermath of a gale. It captures the heavy, saturated atmosphere where the salt-misted air still hangs low over the receded tide. By applying the Blinkered method, I have distilled the chaotic energy of the storm into a rhythmic, horizontal peace—a series of muted greys and washed-out sands that embody the concept of "calm after the chaos."

The Musical Cipher: The title Running To The Sea is a deliberate entry in my "sonic diary." It serves as a cryptic bridge to a track or a melodic line that dictated the tempo of the painting’s creation. I invite the collector to seek the auditory counterpart to these cooling tones; only when the music’s rhythm aligns with the texture of the linen is the true emotional frequency of the work unlocked.

Tactile Stillness: Executed on premium linen canvas, the surface is a rich topography of dozens of layers. Using unconventional DIY tools like sponges and rags, I’ve built a kaleidoscopic depth that mimics the shifting patterns of wet sand and retreating foam. This piece is designed as a "visual anchor" for contemporary interiors, bringing a sense of grounding and meditative quiet to any space.
