£850

A woman with closed eyes and head bowed with her hair flying up to a blue crescent moon, the light of which shines on some swirling clouds behind her.

Beneath these clouds is a dark sky with red rain falling onto wavy grass or water which seems to emanate from her neck, flowing down from the red tendrils of hair. The feeling of the intensity of the red rain is reflected on the nape of her neck.
The red is also reflected in the teardrop earring.

It has been influenced by many things:
1 Red Rain (song by Peter Gabriel),
2 Blood wedding (A play by Fedderico Garcia Lorca),
3 The Long Embrace (a book of Twentieth Century Irish Love Poetry) which was a gift from a former lover, & the lovely painting on the cover, "The Proposal" by Irish artist Dan O'Neill
4 Japanese prints where the nape of the neck is featured by the kimono being lowered.

Acrylic on unframed canvas.
Ready to hang.

Packed carefully and sent by Tracked delivery with a Certificate of Authenticity.
