Late Winter Moss (on a Rainy Day), framed (2013) Linocut by Alexandra Buckle

A reduction linocut of bright green winter mosses growing on the woodland floor and up the trunks of the trees. The recent rain had made the trees brighter in colour and the moss appear to glow. This linocut has eight layers of colour all printed on top of each other.

You will be buying print number 5/8.

A reduction lino print is formed with several layers of colour which are cut and printed from the same block of lino. I print all of my work by hand in very limited editions, small variations do occur between them but this just serves to make each individual print truly original.

This work is printed with water-based, light-fast inks on Somerset Satin paper and has a beautiful matt finish. It is numbered, titled and signed at the bottom, mounted in a neutral colour and framed in 21mm natural oak.

This artwork will be packaged in a bubble envelope with plenty of card support for safety.
