Original artwork description:

"Queen Vashti: the one who said no", 2021

"Go on and show me off to your friends warmed up with wine. Do I dare to say no to you... But since I finally did, it costed me my crown, my standing, and life in exile. Most will say I deserve it, and no one asked me my reasons. History is written by victors."

Expressive female portrait inspired by the Book of Esther in Old Testament.

Size H75 x W100 x D3 (in cm)
Oil and acrylic on stretched canvas
Coated with semi-gloss varnish
Unframed, edges are painted
Ready to hang
Main colors: shades of grey and black, ash, charcoal, ochre, gold, light brown
Origin and dispatch from Finland/EU

I often use OSB wooden panels for a base and pre-texture the canvases for my paintings with a modelling paste. I love textures and rougher ones allow me to enhance the message and better transmit the emotions I portray.

Please note:
- the colors of the painting in life may slightly vary from the photo due to lighting sources or monitor settings.
- the parcel will be sent from Finland. Should you have given the delivery address in one of the European Union countries, there will be no extra local charges upon delivery. If the parcel leaves for a destination outside the EU, such as e.g. the USA or the UK, the recipient may need to declare the painting and pay some local VAT and customs duties.
- all my paintings are inspected before the dispatch and professionally packaged for safe travel to your destination.

Materials used:

Cotton canvas of artistic quality on stretcher frames

About
The faces and stories on my portrait paintings are all me and my doubts in the end. Sometimes imbalanced, imperfect, provocative and boycotting, but always sincere and inviting a re-thinking... Read more
