Following two trips to see the artwork in Italy, Paris and Spain, I began a series of figurative pieces after decades of abstraction. This is one of two paintings that is an effort to meld the two styles. With the marks of abstraction describing spaces and painting light. I am drawn to the mystery of empty spaces that suggest a narrative to which we don't quite have access.
