Over the field (2024) Original Oil Painting by Vasily Kulchenko

This oil on canvas painting captures the fleeting, luminous magic of late-afternoon sunbeams as they sweep across an untamed open field. Painted in a vivid impressionist style, the artwork prioritises the emotional truth of a single moment over rigid detail, allowing the viewer to feel the warmth of the disappearing light.
The deliberate, free-flowing brushstrokes mimic the natural movement of the wind rustling through wild grasses and flora. Rather than blending the pigments smoothly, the paint is applied with a spirited urgency that reflects the untamed, unpredictable soul of nature. Bright highlights of green, gold, and warm ochre collide with cool, shifting shadows of flowers and deep earth tones. This high-contrast interplay creates a dynamic surface texture that seems to vibrate with life, perfectly encapsulating the transient harmony between shifting skies and the wild meadow below.
