One of a series of tulip paintings I started to make in January to add some colour and life to wintry weather.
As I progressed, I became more and more enthusiastic about tulips. Their beautiful shape and stems which twisted and curled of their own accord, creating interesting compositions, almost as if they were posing for me! I love them even more than before.
Charcoal and acrylic on heavyweight Clairefontaine paper. Can be framed either as watercolours behind glass or attached to a board and framed as an oil.
