Original artwork description
An old chair, ready for the scrap heap, has been given a new lease of life. Turn the chair upside down and get to work. Piece by piece, colour by colour. Precise to the square centimetre, yes, almost meditative, completely zen. Reusing materials: that feels good in itself.
The recycled material is glued to the frame; we do not recommend removing it from the frame. It is, of course, possible to repaint the frame.
A discount can be arranged when purchasing multiple works from the Eyes Closed series. Each work stands on its own, but together they form a cohesive whole. Each portrait shows closed or downcast eyes and a profile. Each portrait conveys a different emotional state. Each portrait is created using a different material, a different style and a different technique.
Tip: the Eyes Closed portrait series nos. 1, 2, 3 and 4 all have the same dimensions and background, meaning they can be mounted as a four-part series on an anthracite-coloured backing board and then framed in a frame measuring 70 (h) x 70 (w) x 4 (d) cm or 30 (h) x 120 (w) x 4 (d) cm.
