The second orange lily painting this winter/early spring. I started in February painting tulips to brighten up the winter weather. Then after the shop ran out of tulips, a orange lily seemed like a good alternative. I find the shapes of the flower heads and leaves very interesting to paint although I often move the stems round to create a better composition. The complimentary background colour was chosen to enhance the orange and I think it works perfectly.
Drawn with charcoal and painted with acrylic on heavy special acrylic paper.
