Original artwork description
The work depicts the portrait of a young man – or is it a woman? A portrait of a person with their eyes closed. At peace? I hope so. I put the finishing touches to this work on a very sad day, with many words of comfort for a wonderful person who came to terms with the reality of life far too early and who touched those around him in an unparalleled way: gentle, quirky, open-minded, unifying, creative. I completed it on the day I said goodbye to this dear family member who passed away at the age of 42. Live life. Live it to the full!
It is a serene work in soft colours with a friendly aura. Painted with visible brushstrokes, a classical composition with a contemporary twist. A small work with great expressiveness.
The Eyes Closed series consists of six portraits, four of which measure 30 x 30 cm, one 40 x 40 cm and one 70 x 50 cm. Each portrait features closed or downcast eyes and a profile view. Each portrait conveys a different emotional state. Each portrait is created using a different material, style and technique.
