Neon Desert II is a contemporary digital photomontage inspired by a recent visit to the Nevada desert, where vast open landscapes, intense light and resilient plant life created a striking contrast with the built environments of nearby cities. Combining layers of photography, texture and digital mark-making, the work merges desert forms, botanical elements and architectural fragments into a dreamlike visual landscape. Distressed surfaces and vibrant neon colours evoke both the beauty and fragility of these environments.

The piece explores the relationship between nature and urban expansion, reflecting on how cities continue to encroach upon fragile desert ecosystems. Trees, plants and geological forms emerge through layers of architecture, suggesting resilience, adaptation and the persistence of the natural world. Neon Desert II is both a personal response to the atmosphere of the Nevada desert and a broader reflection on environmental change, memory and the evolving connection between landscape and human development.
