Mountain Serenity (2025) Original Acrylic Painting by Tatiana Hellum

Mountain Serenity is my interpretation of the vast Arctic landscapes of Svalbard, inspired by its dramatic mountains, glaciers and icy waters. I was drawn to the stark beauty of the North, where immense rock formations, snow and water come together beneath the changing Arctic light.
Rather than depicting a specific place, I translated my impression of Svalbard into expressive layers of colour and texture. Deep blues, icy turquoise, muted earth tones and touches of white reflect the raw beauty and distinctive atmosphere of the Arctic landscape.
Mountain Serenity is about the feeling of standing before a landscape that is both immense and timeless, where nature dominates the scene and every shift of light changes its character.
The painting is finished with a protective satin varnish.
