Milky Way (2026) Original Mixed-media Painting by Marjan Fahimi

Milky Way is a small-format textured work that evokes the immensity of a star-filled night through a concentrated, almost tactile fragment of the cosmos. Deep shades of blue unfold across a richly layered surface, where cracks, reliefs and subtle variations of light create a sense of depth and movement. Scattered points of white emerge like distant stars, while the luminous passage crossing the composition recalls the Milky Way stretching across the night sky.
The contrast between the material, fragmented surface and the infinite space suggested beyond it is central to the work. What appears at first as a landscape gradually becomes an abstract meditation on the relationship between matter and space, surface and depth, the intimate and the immeasurable.
Created in mixed media, Milky Way invites a close, contemplative viewing, where texture and light reveal themselves progressively.
