A bold, colourful linocut print of a person and dog, full of vibrant lines, textures, and shapes. This humorous piece celebrates freedom, moving on, and the joy of retiring from my art teaching career to become a full-time artist and printmaker. A few years into this new chapter, I feel energised and excited by the creative freedom it brings. Let Loose captures that shift—playful, confident, and a little bit rebellious. It reflects my “devil-may-care” attitude and a more assured state of mind. For me, this artwork is all about joy, possibility, and the thrill of letting go and leaping into something new.
Selected for the Small but Mighty Exhibition, Bankside September 2024 and the Society of Wood Engravers 87th Annual Exhibition 2025.
