Laurel And Hardy is an original oil painting on canvas, 91 x 71 cm, by London artist Ryan Louder. Two men in black hats and black coats stand side by side against a pale grey ground, the thin one and the big one, an arm around a shoulder, faces in grey-white like an old photograph.

They are painted the way old films feel, slightly soft, slightly glowing, thick rough brushwork doing the work that memory does. Everybody knows these two without me naming them, one silhouette and the whole room smiles. I kept the colour out on purpose. Black coats, white shirts, grey faces, nothing else, and somehow all the warmth survives.
