Last Horizon (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Anna Shelvey

50 x 50 x 1.7cm (unframed) / 50 x 50cm (actual image size)

£795

Part of the *Embers After Dark: Harbour Series*, *Last Horizon* is inspired by Margate Pier and the changing light of the East Kent coast. The painting explores the fleeting moments between day and night, when a final line of light holds steady across the horizon before fading into darkness.

Built through layered applications of acrylic paint, the surface combines deep blues, teals and muted dusk tones with warmer notes of coral and amber. Reflections drift across the water, creating a sense of depth, distance and atmosphere.

The distant silhouette of Margate Pier emerges at the edge of the composition, anchoring the work within a familiar coastal landscape while allowing light and colour to remain the focus. Rather than recording a specific scene, the painting seeks to capture the quiet intensity of evening on the shoreline, where sea, sky and memory begin to merge.

Painted edges. Signed on the reverse. D-rings can be fitted on request prior to dispatch.
