La Traviata (2019) Original Oil Painting by Isabel Mahe

There are
wounds
that no longer
ask
to heal.

They become
light.

The body
no longer
hides them.

It bears them
as one carries
a song
to its
final breath.

Then
the voice
no longer
belongs
to the one
who sings.

It becomes
silence.

And silence
learns
to love.
