Original artwork description
My inspiration for this painting is a picture of my nieces during summer. I wanted to represent freedom summer, childhood and happiness. Through expressive brushstrokes and strong contrasts, I worked on interaction between movement, light and vibrant colors. Water creates a sense of joy and maybe nostalgia inviting the viewer to reconnect with childhood and escape. The two figures are in contrast: one is splashing in the water and the other one is just sitting on her water wings. Most colors are blue, pink and yellow offering a refreshing energy to any space.
