Original artwork description:

A bright, soft and dreamy abstract watercolor called "Japan Dream". This painting is an abstraction about a mountain landscape with little groups of trees... it looks like in a dream, not real, and it makes me think of Japan. The delicate atmosphere resembles light asian watercolors without being asian and you can get lost in it and dream away....

Also, this painting is influenced by visiting a Patrick Heron exhibition in the Tate Gallery, St. Ives. There I learned a lot about the importance of corners, forms and edges and right now I am giving more attention to these aspects of an abstract painting and here you can find lots of interesting details in the corners, especially when you play around with different sizes of frames and mats. I like it best framed with a square mat, like you see in the examples. If you want a signed mat, let me know.

23x31 cm on Arches paper 300g, professional W&N Watercolors used.

No mat or frame included.

The photos show the artwork plain on its sheet of paper as it comes and a square framing example to get an idea what it could look like when framed smaller/square.

The painting will come unframed and unmatted, signed on the back. A non-square frame would also look great, the best will be to take it to the framers and discuss the size of mat and frame!

If you want a signed and titled square 30x30 cm mat like that on the photos, please let me know and I can include one of those for free.

ATTENTION: Please be aware that most monitors are not calibrated and may show colors slightly differently!
