Amorphous surfaces beneath fountain-like impulses. A kind of landscape in the midst of a surrounding void. An underworld. Deep ultramarine in the centre. Like a sea that beckons me to let myself be drawn in and down. A maelstrom of longing. The intuitive, semi-transparent painting on foil is a work that puts me in a meditative state. As we know, a meditative state comes very close to what happens to us in deep sleep. Inner impulses and external impressions fade into the background. It is as if they are dimmed, muffled and finally faded out. When we can let thoughts, feelings and stimuli pass by, the ego no longer has a task. It can surrender. Pure blue. Deep calm...
