Iceland Landscape 7 (2025) Original Ink Drawing by Steve Potts
21 x 15cm (unframed) / 18.2 x 12.3cm (actual image size)
£150
Original artwork description
We visited Iceland as a family in the summer of 2025, and the thing that stayed with me was the geology. The rock doesn't sit quietly in the ground. It thrusts upward, fractured and angular, still feeling like it arrived there recently. This drawing tries to get at that dramatic, unsettled quality of the terrain. I used tools that are hard to control, which felt right for the subject. The marks went their own way at times, and some of those accidents stayed in the drawing because they seemed to belong there more than anything deliberate would have.
Materials used:
ink, wash
Details:
- Ink drawing on Paper
- One of a kind artwork
- Size: 21 x 15cm (unframed) / 18.2 x 12.3cm (actual image size)
- Signed on the front
- Style: Expressive and gestural
- Subject: Landscapes, sea and sky
