Hebridean Green Waters (2019) Original Oil Painting by Ben McLeod

I spent most of 2018 in the Scottish Highlands. Travelling back and forth gave opportunity to explore other areas too. My family are originally from the Isle of Skye - but the whole of the west coast and islands provide immense opportunity to paint wonderful beach scenes. The open white sands and teal blue waters against the particular light of the west coast is something that I look forward to visiting with dedicated time to sketch and paint exclusively.

This is one of three large paintings that make up the triptych of scenes of Luskentyre Beach on the Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides. Each of these three paintings are complete with a beautifully handmade lime-washed frame (since painted with a dark grey satin finish) - which leads the eye right into the work. Signed by me on the front and reverse this painting is ready to hang.
