Original artwork description
Heavy Weather
Oil on canvas, 80 × 80 cm | Series: Present Tense
A narrow water channel cuts through dense golden reeds beneath a sky of deep, almost electric violet. Heavy Weather captures that charged moment just before a storm breaks the air thick, the light too intense to stay calm. Where her Somewhere Before series dissolves into memory, this painting refuses to look away: it is pure presence, pure now loud, alert, on the verge of turning.
Heavy Weather is the second work in the Present Tense series — Evgenija Koch's saturated, high-contrast counterpoint to dissolution and remembering.
