Original artwork description:

This painting came about due to a commission in which I stepped away from the figurative shape as the painting ground. A shaped painting was not requested,and I was glad it went over well. I enjoyed the implications of movement and progress. There's something about the expressive mark and interpretive form playing against a stark and recognizable shape. That kind of contrast really gets me going, and I can see this series continuing in other forms.
