Grace in Passing is an original watercolor reflecting on the quiet beauty found at the end of a lotus bloom. The flower has released its petals, leaving behind the seed pod, while a few soft pink petals seem to drift away in the breeze. Below, the aging leaf bends gently with time.
I painted this piece as a reminder that beauty does not disappear when a flower fades—it simply changes form. The seed pod carries the promise of another generation, while the falling petals remind us to appreciate each moment before it passes.
In traditional Asian thought, the lotus is often associated with purity, resilience, and renewal. Here, I wanted to explore another side of its story: acceptance, impermanence, and the peaceful continuation of life.
