Gibraltar at night (2026) Original Oil Painting by Olesia Podobied

Gibraltar at Night is inspired by the nature and the ocean of the Strait of Gibraltar, the narrow passage where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean and two seas move against each other in constant, restless currents. In this painting the night dissolves the line between water and sky: dense vertical strokes of indigo deep blue ripple across the whole canvas like the surface of the sea.

The layered darkness in this painting is built so that the paint slowly reveals new depths of blue as you spend time with it and as the light in the room changes.

This is a large original painting, oil and acrylic on canvas, 105 × 100 cm, painted in 2026. Signed on the back. Unframed. It will bring a calm, contemplative and slightly magical atmosphere to a living room, bedroom or study.
