Event Horizon (2026) Original Mixed-media Sculpture by Reza Arab

Event Horizon explores the tension between gravitational pull, expansion, and stillness.

Built through layers of textured microcement, precisely arranged nails and thread, and a sculptural resin centre, the work draws the eye toward a concentrated focal point while the surrounding lines and circular reliefs suggest movement extending beyond it.

The contrast between the raw, tactile surface of the microcement and the controlled geometry of the thread creates a dialogue between material irregularity and precision. Light interacts with the raised surfaces, metallic elements, and threads, allowing the appearance of the work to subtly shift as the viewer moves around it.

Part of the ongoing Resonance Series, Event Horizon continues my exploration of material, geometry, depth, and perception through sculptural wall works.
