Ephemeral April is a vibrantly coloured expressive painting of a dispersing springtime landscape with blossom and bluebells. It is 30x30x1.5 inches. The painting is made up of a series of brightly coloured dots on a bright blue background. The dots are semi-abstract at the edges but describe the scene more realistically as they merge and solidify towards the centre. A pheasant runs from the left through bluebells and wildflowers towards blossom trees which are dispersing petals into the sky. Two deer are blending into the background across a small clearing and further blossoming trees. The narrative behind this painting is simply me feeling both joy and melancholy at how long we wait, in England, for the beauty of the bluebell and blossom and wildflowers of April and how fast they all disperse again. Even the pheasant is trying to hold onto it all. April, in English countryside, is simply stunning and I think I have expressed this fleeting moment here quite well. Painted on deep edge canvas, blue edges, ready to hang and comes with certificate of authenticity
