A dark haired woman in her boudoir, behind heavy curtains filtering the glowing light.
Wearing and holding emerald beads which contrast her dark hair.

I decided to subtitle this piece Róisín Dubh, because of the Emerald connection and in celebration of my being Irish.
Róisín Dubh means "Dark Rose" or Dark Rosaleen, and is associated with a 16th century love poem.

I have created this image using professional chalk pastels: Sennelier, Winsor & Newton, and the paper used is my very favourite grey/blue Indian handmade, 210gsm pure cotton. It is a textured paper, perfect for pastel, and has a pleasing *deckle edge.

Paper measures 12 x 17" / A3

Available unframed.
Carefully packed flat.
All my artworks are sent with a Certificate of Authenticity.

*Some of my collectors prefer to leave this edge uncovered by a mount/mat at the time of framing. Simply request your framer to "float" the image but make sure the paper is kept away from the glass by a slip of wood or card. A good framer will advise.

Materials used:

chalk pastel, handmade paper
