Durlston county park, Dorset
So lovely to see blue in the sky,
The evergreen woodland gardens,
The dried grasses in the meadow,
A special place high up on the cliff tops,
Naturally beautiful.

Words and experience
I love the walk to the top of Durlston and then back along the meadow area. I have visited this place often throughout the years and it’s not far from Swanage a wonderful seaside town. The meadow area in late Winter to early spring was full of glinting colours. A contrast to the earthy greens of the evergreen trees in the woodland, so close to the cliffs above Durlston bay, the other side.
I created loose washes, leaving slits of light in the sky. I used a scrubbing technique for the trees using a chisel brush and filbert. Many different shades for the meadow and scraping out the paint while the paper is damp to enhance the grasses - trees.
Signed on the front and back of painting.
Certificate of authenticity.

Materials used:

Filbert brush, chisel brush, Chinese brushes, Windsor and newton watercolours, cold pressed high white Fabriano watercolour paper 300gsm 140lb,
