Artwork description
In Sept-Îles, corrugated metal dominates the landscape. Architecturally, it is not the most attractive feature, but from a photographic standpoint—when the light is intense and strikes the surface at a near-parallel angle—it yields semi-abstract images of great graphic beauty.
A striking black and white, high-contrast photograph captures the texture of a corrugated metal wall. The repetitive vertical lines of the metal sheeting are emphasized by sharp, dramatic shadows cast across the surface, creating a strong sense of depth and pattern. Two sets of pipes are visible on the right side of the wall, their forms also rendered in stark contrast with the textured background. The overall aesthetic is industrial and abstract, focusing on form, light, and shadow rather than a specific scene.
Printed on 100% cotton paper—free of acid and optical brighteners (Fine Art print on Red River Palo Duro Softgloss Rag 315 gsm paper) using Epson pigment inks. The paper measures 25 in x 17 in, and the image measures 23.4 in x 13.2 in. Consequently, the image is surrounded by a margin.
