In Sept-Îles, corrugated metal dominates the landscape. Architecturally, it is not the most attractive feature, but from a photographic standpoint—when the light is intense and strikes the surface at a near-parallel angle—it yields semi-abstract images of great graphic beauty.

A high-angle, full shot captures a section of a corrugated metal wall in monochrome. The wall is composed of vertical, repeating ridges that create a strong sense of pattern and texture. Deep shadows cast between the ridges emphasize the dimensionality of the surface. Centered within the frame is a square piece of rough, textured plywood, appearing to be affixed in the metal. The contrast between the smooth, industrial metal and the rustic, organic plywood creates a striking visual juxtaposition. The overall mood is stark and minimalist, highlighting form and texture over color.
