For this painting, I began with yellow and blue, feeling as if my thoughts drifted in water shimmering with light. Yet something was missing: a sense of movement, a focal spark. The red stripes became, for me, lively shapes gliding through this peaceful sea.
In the interior photo, it seems bigger than it is.
