Recently, I've been experimenting a lot with watercolor technique, trying to go beyond the frames of realistic painting. At the same time, I want to preserve the visual recognition and beauty of the objects, to not sinking completely into abstraction. I made this watercolor in the beautiful botanical garden of Hohenheim inspired by blooming cherries. My main goal was to convey sunlight sparkling on flowers, foliage, and bright green grass. I also like how the dark branches of the tree contrast with delicate pink flowers, structuring the space.
