Black & White Lovers with Palette Knife (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Dina Telesheva

100 x 100 x 2cm (unframed) / 100 x 100cm (actual image size)

£1,505.23

This large-scale, circular artwork (100 cm / 39.4 inches) marks a pivotal moment in my creative journey. For the very first time, I have intentionally broken away from my signature purely black-and-white palette to introduce rich, expressive color into my work.
In this piece, two figures are brought to life using my traditional, highly textured black-and-white technique. Expressive acrylic strokes and palette knife work build the structural forms of the figures. However, where their faces would be, vibrant, impasto bouquets of flowers burst into life.
The contrast between the calm, monochromatic bodies and the intense, joyful pinks, yellows, and fresh greens creates a powerful visual and emotional tension. The swallows hovering above, painted in bold black and white, complete this symbolic composition of love, freedom, and emotional rebirth.
The large 100 cm round format (tondo) creates a captivating presence, drawing the viewer into the rich layers and tangible texture of the acrylic paint.

Materials used:

Mixed media,fabric collage,heavy texture,fabric elements
