This series of works is my experiment with form as gesture. The image is built around an expressive gesture. Every movement and stroke of the brush on the canvas becomes a kind of the painting of action . Black on a white background allows the movement to manifest itself as clearly as possible, without any distractions of color or tone. These works draw their inspiration from the art of hieroglyphs. Yet, while each hieroglyph has a defined meaning, in my painting the image is stripped of any commonly known sense and instead becomes an expression of a state of being
