Original artwork description:

Pastel drawing on archival Ampersand Pastelbord 1/8" deep. Inspired by a scene at The Chicago Botanic Garden, it depicts birch trees in the first snow of the cold season, with dying foliage highlighted in the afternoon sun in late Autumn. The golds and oranges of the dry leaves and grasses give accents of warmth against the cold mauves and blues of the snow, as a sort of allegory of life and death.
Please note: pastel artworks must be framed under glass or plexi-glass.

Materials used:

pastels, archival board
