This painting was inspired by the feeling of rain clearing over a landscape — that moment when darkness, moisture, and light seem to exist at once. I wanted the piece to suggest something seen in passing rather than fully described, so the viewer can sense the atmosphere without needing a literal scene.

I hope viewers feel calm, immersed, and slightly unsettled in a good way, as though they are standing just beyond the edge of a forest or shoreline after a storm. The work is meant to hold both energy and stillness, inviting reflection on how weather can shift our emotional state.

I chose this medium and style because the layered paint, texture, and gestural marks let me build depth, movement, and luminosity in a way that feels natural to the subject. The abstract landscape approach allows me to focus less on exact place and more on mood, memory, and the sensation of being inside a changing environment.
