My name is Yuriy Prisyaznyi. I am a professional watercolour artist, and my work is an ongoing study of the world through the lens of light, atmosphere, and graphic expression.
For me, creating art is a steady process built on years of experience, daily sketching, and a constant drive to refine my skills. My primary interest lies in capturing our reality: the rhythm of city streets, the stories of people, and the unique personalities of the places I visit. I have a particular affinity for the chamber format (typically a quarter-sheet, 27x37 cm). I collect such small-scale watercolours myself; I find they possess a special intimacy, perfect for cozy interiors and a closer connection with the viewer.
My development as an artist has been a lifelong journey. I began my formal path at the studio of Oleg Synelnikov (1998 - 2002), followed by architectural drawing courses at the Kharkiv National University of Architecture and studies at the studio of Svetlana Nenazhenko. In 2019, I was honoured to become a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (NUAU).
After living and working in County Kerry, Ireland, for eighteen months as a member of the Tralee Art Group, I am now based in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. My international experiences continue to shape my work, which has been exhibited extensively in Ukraine and abroad. I was recently awarded First Prize at the "Mini Watercolor Kyiv" international exhibition and selected for the prestigious FabrianoInAcquarello 2026 in Italy.
My works are held in private collections in Ireland, the USA, Ukraine, Germany, and beyond. Through my watercolours, I invite you to see the "fleeting moment" as I see it - full of movement, light, and quiet beauty.
