About Victoria Lucy Williams

  • Biography
A 2018 MA graduate from Falmouth University Victoria's research and practice circles about the and multifaceted relationship humans share with the non-human animate earth. Rocks, rivers, land, animal as well as dream entities encountered in the subconscious and conscious mind.

Fairytales, folklore, human rites of passage, marks left in the passage of time, what we as a species do and did within the landscape, beliefs about animals, bodies of water, everything had a story, a meaning or a warning. We were and still are a species in constant conversation with the world whether or not something vocalises back to us. I am interested in the multiple strings of a narrative told and unfolding concerning humans and the more than human world.

Various forms of research informs my creative practice, this can range from the experiential such as a walk to watching starlings to reading the work of James Hillman, Viciane Despret, Carl Jung or Edward O. Wilson.

The human spirit is an animal of its own making fed by the world around us, it is constantly creating images, stories, animals, translating from the inner world to the outer.
