About Tomasz Mikutel

  • Biography

Independent artist living and creating art in Northampton, UK. Apart from having some of my artworks in a art gallery in UK, this Year my painting titled "Old Town Of Edinburgh" will be published in a art book about Edinburgh. This painting is available to buy here on Artfinder.

    A bit about myself

I was born in Lodz, Poland in 1983. I started to draw as a kid, I think inspiration for art came from my father who was an oil painter. Even though my father died when I was young I still remember how proud I was watching how all those paintings come together. Since 2007 I live in UK and here, create art on location and in my home studio in Northampton.

Although I paint animals most of the time my favourite watercolour artists are architectural painters like Alvaro Castagnet or Joseph Zbukvic. My style is mainly classical and traditional, I prefer loose technique to a photo-realism as when painting loose you are able to express more emotions and leave part of yourself inside in your painting.
