About Selene Caspian

  • Biography

Selena Caspian is a contemporary artist based in Stockholm, whose work explores the quiet intensity of nature, light, and inner stillness.

Her paintings exist in the space between movement and calm where layered textures, fluid gestures and subtle tonal shifts create an atmosphere rather than a direct representation. Instead of depicting nature as an external subject, she approaches it as an immersive experience something to be felt rather than observed.

Working intuitively, Caspian allows each composition to evolve organically, guided by rhythm, balance and emotional response. This process results in works that feel both spontaneous and deeply considered, inviting the viewer into a moment of pause, reflection and quiet connection.

Previously exhibiting under her real name, Natalia Pettersson, her work has been shown internationally in Stockholm, Milan, Moscow, London, Madrid and New York. In 2024, she was awarded first place in her category at the Golden Time Talent competition in London and was selected as a semi-finalist for the Target Painting Prize in Madrid.

Her practice reflects an ongoing exploration of presence, perception and the subtle emotional resonance of natural forms, creating works that bring a sense of depth, balance and calm into contemporary spaces.
